BALI SURF REPORT 2018 out 2019 in 31st December 2018

Hello everyone and a super big thanks to everyone who has tuned into the baliwaves over the years. A special Thanks to everyone that has come and stayed at our humble surfer Homestay here in Bali, and we do hope you special folks keep tuning in and keep on coming over to Bali in 2019.

2018 wasn’t a bad year, especially for us lucky ones that are still here breathing and still surfing. Indonesia sure had her share and a bit more of bad luck with natural disasters but thanks to the Gods for keeping Bali mostly out of harms way. Lets all keep our fingers crossed that Bali will always be here for everyone to appreciate. Lets also say a little prayer that all the money hungry developers slow down a bit, or even better, just bugger off and rape somewhere else hey.

Right so it’s New Years Eve 2018 and at the moment the roads are in Kaos mode with all the domestic tourists from the big island driving laps around Kuta. And pretty soon there’ll be fireworks hammering away, concerts being played and people partying like it’s the end of the World. Thank God it’s only one night a year hey and within a few more days we should start to see Bali get back to her normal self again. So bring on 2019 we are ready to roll !!!!

Today we got fooled by the wind forecasts calling for a mostly light and variable wind and headed over to the East Coast to try and get the best on offer. But even at 6.30AM the wind was coming fresh out of the NE and cross / on shore where we were. But it didn’t really matter as there were still some fun little waves up to head high and hardly any other surfers in the water. That’s exactly how we like it, well we would have liked some cleaner wind, but surfing without the crowds and just friends is what it’s all about.

Ok that’s me time to go scrub up and head down the beach for a couple a quitish beers wit the boys, see ya’s all next year.
