BALI / INDONESIA
20th – 21st April 2019
Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping Bali surf reports real since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright and we do hope everyone has been enjoying their Easter weekend so far. This latest photo gallery we have with this report was shot yesterday the 20th while the swell was still pumping through over on Bali’s East coast. We did check Keramas first but only just realized that the JPSA are still holding their annual Japanese surfing contest. It’s becoming common ground now days for foreign countries to hold private surfing contests in Bali and closing beaches off to the public.
Wave height at Keramas yesterday was still in the 5-6ft+ range when we were on the scene so we back tracked back down the road a little ways and found this nice Slab offering some bone crunchers also in the 4-6ft+ range.
Today the 21st and as expected wave height had dropped right back into the chest to well over head high range and some very nice long fun sized waves on offer where we ended up surfing. No surfers in the water when we pulled up at 6.30am and by the time we packed up the crowd had topped out at 10. We also had a good stiff off shore wind blowing early coming out of the North. Around 9.00AM the ESE Trade started to kick in.
Weather wise it’s been another very hot and sunny one here in Bali, perfect holiday weather.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is saying to get ready for another solid bump in wave height. Early morning low tide and expect some light and variable (northern quadrant) wind early before the Trade wind kicks in.
Long Range Surf Forecast (19th April) has wave height continuing to taper off on the 20th and then another medium to moderate swell should show on the evening of the 21st and hold through till the 22nd. Just behind this system is going to be another moderate to large swell slamming into just about all of Indonesia’s surfing locations on the 24th and holding for a couple of days.
NB: if your in the market for a new board, fins, leashes or just about anything to do with surfing or cool stuff, head straight to the BOARDRIDERS mega SURF SHOP for their CRAZY EASTER SALE (on right now) located 20mtrs back from Echo Beach at Canggu.
