BALI / INDONESIA
23rd – 24th April 2019
Hello everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Well yesterday the 23rd and Ketut and I were busy heading out in different directions to pick up camera bodies from being serviced (gotta love a dust free sensor). I was also out hunting up a new tri pod for our video camera so now instead of promoting other people’s video clips we’ll be back to shooting our own from all around Bali, like we used to. Yeah so stay tuned.
Today the 24th and with the early morning low tide we took our time and made our way down to Balangan on the South Western end of the island. On arrival our first surf check from up on the cliff was only showing wave height in the 2-2ft+ range with a fresh ENE wind on it. There were only 5 surfers in the water at 7.40AM so that kind of sealed the deal for us.
I was hoping to see some bigger waves wrapping in on the point and by 10.30AM as the tide was pushing in and we did feel a new pulse of swell with a couple of the bigger sets (clean up) were pushing well over head. It was around that time that our European friends started making their way down to the beach. Before long there would have been close to 100 learners scattered from the point down to the end section.
Weather wise today it’s been another hot and sunny one here on the holiday island. Right now at 4.45PM the wind is fresh outta the ESE-SE and the temperature is still on 30 degree’s Celsius.
I’m going to head down for another surf check shortly so keep an eye on our Twitter feed (@baliwaves) for a late afternoon surf up date ok.
