BALI / INDONESIA
25th – 26th April 2019
Hi folks and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves, (Keeping you in the loop with Bali’s surfing scene since right back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright so yesterday the 25th and we were out and on the road long before sun up with everything looking real good to score some long and perfect waves. But as it goes when “Murphy’s Law” has anything to do with it our 2 hr ETA turned into a nightmarish stop go 5 hour haul. Stuck in the worst West coast traffic jam I’ve ever witnessed in the 25 yrs I’ve been a resident of Bali. Thousands of trucks banked up all the way to the ferry terminal. It hurt to watch the wind turn from a fresh off shore into a fresh on shore. But we still did manage to get wet and get some long waves, it was just that the wind was cross / on shore as it shows in the photos.
Today the 26th and with another early morning low tide and still plenty of swell on offer my crew opted for the un crowded option so we hit the East Coast and got exactly that. Wave height was pushing the double head high range but with a cross shore easterly blowing straight into the waves. Still clean enough but with a bit of bump on the face. But with our crew pretty well surfing it by themselves.
Weather wise today it’s been another hot and sunny one here in Bali and right now at 1.40PM the temperature is a warm 31 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction is blowing hard out of the SE-SSE at 10-16knot.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to be backing off through out the day but there should still be plenty of waves and options on offer. Light and variable early morning depending on location before the SE Trade wind kicks in mid morning.
baliwaves is also offering any surfers a solid 10% discount on any surfing package at JOYO’S G-LAND SURF CAMP so contact us now if you want to save some serious dollars and get the waves of a life time.
