BALI / INDONESIA
18th – 19th July 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so for starters we are very happy to report that there have been no more Earth Tremors rocking Bali since 2 days ago, and fingers crossed lets hope it stays that way. Just out of interest if you check the daily history of Earth Quakes / Tremors in Indonesia you would find them happening multiple times daily right across the arcapeligo. Well most days anyways.
Alright then like I mentioned in yesterdays surf report we took a stroll along Kuta Beach and fired off a few photos. So here’s a collection of photos to show you what you can expect to find along one of the World’s most famous beaches, namely Kuta Beach. Clean white sand and clear blue water with lots of different sand banks and waves on offer for learners or for the experienced surfer.
Today the 19th and Selamet Hari Raya Sugian Bali the first lead up ceremonial day leading up to our big day of Galungan coming up on the 24th of this month.
Our 7.00am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height breaking in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. At the time the tide was just starting to run in and Middle Reef was the best and picking up the bigger set waves. I checked it again around 10.00am and although the ESE Trade wind was pretty strong there looked like there was some nice waves on Kuta and Airports, Kuta Reef was looking busy as always.
Ketut took a run up the coast a little ways to Canggu and said wave height was in the 2-4ft class but the wind already blowing cross / on shorfe by the time he arrived at 8.00am. He did shoot some photos for us so I’ll check em out and load a few up for you later on.
Weather wise outside today it’s been a mostly overcast type of day here in South Bali. Temperature wise right now at 12.40pm the temperature is a warm 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 65% and the UV index on 2. Wind direction is ESE with gusts up to 25km/h.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is saying we should see similar sized waves into the morning and then to slowly improve through out the afternoon.
Further out we are expecting two more big swells to hit Bali, the first one should arrive on the 22nd followed by a slightly bigger one on the 24th and with any kind of luck we might see the running of the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup. Fingers crossed and stay tuned to the baliwaves for more info and up dates.
