BALI / INDONESIA
12th – 15th December 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright first up let me fill you all in on whats been happening here. Well around a week ago I took an unlucky wipe out trying to avoid someone paddling for the shoulder just as I was taking a late drop.. The end result was me tearing my rib cartilage and a lot of pain. It’s still pretty much the same now but there’s nothing extra I can do to help it heal up except try and rest haha. But in the mean time I did get you a sick Mentawai Islands surf report plus I threw together another new video clip onto the baliwaves.com
This little big accident comes right as I’m about to duck off island and spend my second Chrissy (in 25yrs) with my dear old Mum in Oz. At least Mum will be seeing a lot of me while I’m there. We will still be loading reports and photos / videos and reports so don’t worry about that.
This morning the 15th and with the wind light out of the North we took a quick run over to the East Coast and shot our current photo gallery and Kadek also smashed a heap of video as well that you will eventually get to see some of. As it shows wave height was only in the chest to slightly over head range with clean and glassy surfing conditions. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad either with only around 15-20 surfers in the water while we were on the scene.
Weather wise it;s been another hot one here in Bali but we have had some relief in the way of late afternoon rain.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is looking a little better wave height wise with a small bump but the wind direction is not going to be the best coming out of the WSW – SSW as the day goes on. Best chance for clean conditions will be early morning.
Our friend Mr Steve Pivetta has also sent us through a couple of old photos he took back in the 70’s one featuring his old lost friend and Bali surfing legend Mr Gede Namada and the other of a very quite and peaceful looking Kuta Beach. Steve is trying to get back in contact with his old friend so if anyone know’s how to contact Gede please let Steve know. I used to regulary bump into Gede out at Kuta Reef but haven’t seen him for awhile myself.
Please contact Steve Pivetta

Here’s another thing that might interest some of the ex-pats with young children living here in Bali that might be interested in having their kids learn to play a musical instrument (drums, guitar, base guitar or piano) instead of just playing games on phones. Sound interesting then send us an email today and get your children into music. Contact us for more information email link here
