BALI
24th – 25th September 2013
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com (telling you how it is since 1999) for the latest news and best variety of views from here on the best value for hard earned tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Firstly it’s good to be back home in Bali, (home, well after living here all year round in Bali for the best part of the last 20 years, this is home for my family and I). I just spent a total of 36hrs over in Singapore changing my business visa back over to our own company and aquiring a new and highly improved camera for the baliwaves. And that means baliwaves will be bringing you even better quality surfing photos and soon we’ll be back to producing our own Bali surf video clips. Just like we used to in the past.
Yesterday the 24th with a decent bump in wave height Ketut was down on location at our own Balinese Pipeline called Padang Padang. And as it shows in the 60 odd photos he edited up for us there was the odd decent tube ride happening for the crew that were on it while the tide was still low enough.
Today the 25th and our morning 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing some decent waves in the 3-5ft range between Kuta reef and Airport Left. The tide was still too low for KR and Airports but Middle Reef was smoking through some nice left handers. As the tide filled in KR and AL started to peel off a few but certainly no shortage of surfers with around 40+ surfers out on Kuta Reef. Surfing conditions today have perfect here along the West Coast with clean off shore wind since early this morning.
G-Land Surf report, just check out there report page for the latest photos out of camp.
Mentawai island surf report, you can do likewise as I’ve just up dated both these pages.
Over on Bali’s East Coast our man sent through his first surf up date at 8.00AM calling wave height at Keramas this morning to be in the head to over head high class. Clean and glassy surfing conditions, still needing a little bit more water over the reef. 25 surfers already out on the main break..
Weather wise here on the holiday island it’s been a mostly sunny day with some cloud rolling through intermitently. Temperature wise right now at 1.15PM the mercury is sitting on 31 degree’s Celsius and the wind out of the SE at 6-12knot.
Swell outlook for Bali over the next week is once again looking fantastic. It appears that by tomorrow afternoon there’s going to be a very solid wave producing system all over us. Backing off through Thursday and into Friday before another medium sized front backs up keeping us in plenty of waves through into early next week.
Web Cam, after a successful meeting with our on island web cam technician everything is ready to run with the baliwaves web cam and we should have the power running again in the next few days, just in time to see some lines peeling down the line at Impossible’s.
NB: all photos on baliwaves.com are edited to low resolution / quality as possible for easier viewing. We do have all the original photo files for safe keeping and just drop contact us if you need a full resolution / quality original.
Great shots Tut and Slim. Can’t wait to see the results from the new gear.
Wishing you an other 20 years and more photos to come as well for us 🙂
Thanks Bro !!!
Cheers Jez
