Welcome back to the baliwaves.com and your daily look at what whats happening surf and weather wise here on the one stop best value surfing holiday island of Bali.
Now as ya’s can see in these latest photos to leave Bali we made a run over to the East Coast of Bali yesterday afternoon. Our first stop was to Geger Beach at Nusa Dua but all we found there were gross looking 55yr old Euro’s walking around in G-Strings…. %@#$ !!
Wave height at Nusa Dua was easily breaking in the double head high plus range but the WSW wind was trashing it and we didn’t see one wave wave ridden in the 15 minutes we were watching.
Next stop was to Serangan, now I was pretty surprised to see the set waves here breaking in the 6-8ft (Hawaian / Newcastle) class, or up to 3 times plus over head. Surfing conditions were pretty much straight off-shore with just a touch of southerly cross blended in. The number of surfers in the water was pretty standard for that size at 20+ and mainly all local boys and girls !
I also thought I’d shoot with my 1000mm lens yesterday just to blow the cob webs out of here for the coming season.
This mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking good with wave height in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with only a baby’s breath worth of NW wind. So the early birds could be surfing anywhere they want this morning.
Tide wise today we have a 1.3mtr High @ 6.30Am and then we’ll have a midday 1.0mtr Low and then finish off the day with a 2.0mtr High around sunset.
Weather wise we have a cloudy start but it’s not threatening rain so we can expect another hot and humid day around the beach.
Sorry folks just a quick report today as I’m going to try and get out there and get some more photos for ya’s.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp7,400 and 1US$=Rp11.000 give or take 100Rupiah depending on vender.
Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, BALI, see ya’s here in 2009
