****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning to all my fellow surfers tuning into the baliwaves this Thursday for the run down on whats going down surf and weather wise here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. But man, did we get some rain last night. For 3hrs it hammered down causing some severe flooding in the Poppies Lane area’s and through out Kuta. We even had a couple of feet covering the main road (Kartika Plaza) here in Tuban.
This mornings 6.30Am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing wave height to be in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Unfortunately for anyone trying to sneak out for the early surf…. wind direction was coming out of the West @ 5-9knot and virtually straight on-ahore along the West Coast. Maybe if we are lucky it might lighten up and become more variable by midday to mid afternoon, same as yesterday.
Nothing really surfable on Kuta Reef or Airport Left this morning with the tide still running out for a 0.9mtr Low @ 9.00Am but Middle Reef did have a few waves still clean enough to ride in the head to head high plus class.
Looking for a wave today, well for this morning anyway you’d be best off taking a drive over to the East Coast and check it out from anywhere betwen Nusa Dua and Keramas. But like I mentioned, hopefully we will see the wind become lighter and more variable through out the day. Then it’ll be best here along Bali’s West Coast.
Weather wise this morning the heavy rain clouds have moved on but we are still left with light cloud cover. Heading for a top temperature of around 28-29 degree’s Celius.
Ok, Scott has also sent us another report from the Gold Coast where the Quicksilver Pro is currently underway and you can find Scott’s photos and report in our Readers Report page.
Have a good one and Best Regards from Bali
