Yesterday the 10th we made the most of the light and variable wind and a nice bump in wave height and snuck over to that black sand beach totally under the radar. Arriving just on sun rise to meet another early riser friend of ours for a quick Bali coffee and watch some 3-4 footers starting to peel off with no other surfers in sight. It was also so good to have another blue sky with the dawn and just for the record a nice fresh off shore wind.
Just after the tide bottomed and started it’s run back in wave height didn’t waste much time and was soon in the head to double head high and looking like getting bigger still, and it did. The clean wind and smooth surfing conditions hung in there through until 9.00am. The wind then started to shift more to the SE and slowly crank up to Trade wind strength.
Today the 11th and it’s another tip top day so far here on the Worlds No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination. Our early morning surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing some nice fun 2-4 foot waves breaking between Kuta reef and Airport left. The was light early but has since swung to the ESE and gusting up to 29km/h. There wasn’t a lot of surfers hanging about down at Pantai Jerman this morning which was a bit out of the norm. I’d say there would be a whole lot of surfing options on offer all the way down to Uluwatu today.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 1.7mtr High at 3.30pm.
Weather wise Right now at 11.30am we have a mostly blue sky with the temp is currently a warm 29C with the humidity at 71%
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to be backing off a little bit more with the period also down to 14 seconds. My guess on the wind will be for light variable early morning breeze before the ESE-SE Trade wind kicks in around 8-9am. Looking further out we will see another bigger swell hit Bali and most of Indo on and around the 13th.
Coming up here in Bali we have the Volcom Cloudfish digital surf event running right now and still plenty of time to enter, you can see the event details down the page. We also have the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup Trials on stand by right now.
