****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com and your eyes on the waves for the daily run down on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. And I tell ya even though the waves are smallish and there are a few people here on holidays I certainly wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
This mornings 7.00am surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have actually crept up a foot and breaking in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Not much happening on Kuta Reef but further across on 2nd Reef and Middle Reef there were a few surfers catching waves in the waist to chest high plus region. Airport Left was already loaded with around 20 surfers of the usual contingency but only breaking in the knee to waist high division.
Surfing conditions were clean and smooth but with the wind blowing light on-shore, coming out of the NW @ 2-3knot. I’d say by mid to late morning the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind will start to show it’s presence.
Tidal info is saying that we had a 0.7mtr Low @ 6.00am and then she’ll be filling back in for another solid 2.5mtr High around 12 noon.
Our daily sms from the G-Land Surf Camp has come through calling wave height to have dropped down into the shoulder to head high range with the very occassional bigger set wave. At the time of the report there was a total of 4 surfers in the water at Kongs.
Weather wise here in Tuban it’s a mainly sunny start for the day with a little bit of cloud still passing over and heading for another hot one. Expecting a top midday temperature of around 33 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast; Ok so the short range situation is looking a bit crook with only waist to head high waves, depending on location over the next 3-4 days. But looking a bit deeper the charts are calling for a very moderate sized swell to start showing on our reefs around late Monday early Tuesday. This one should push wave height into the 6-8ft+ range through Tuesday and Wednesday before backing off. Slightly bigger again off East Java in the G-land region of Indonesia.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1US$=Rp9,900 — 1AU$=Rp7,95 —
Contest news and the next major event scheduled for the ISC will be held by Rip Curl and going down on the island of Sumbawa at the famous Scar Reef. I think the waiting period for waves to arrives commences around the 17th of June. Check the latest news on the ISC’s website via their link on baliwaves.com.
Ok thats all for today folks and thanks to Hendra Surf Photography for these latest photos from down at Uluwatu and I’m sure they’ll be bringing us another batch again later this evening. Thanks for tuning into the baliwaves.com
Best Regards from Bali
