****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Goog morning folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the first choice surfing holiday destination island of Bali. And another day with more photos from our friend Hendra and his photo team from down at Uluwatu. By the look of these current photos wave height had also had a nice little boost down there as well yesterday.
Well this mornings 7.20am surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing yet another slight increase in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was still heading towards the bottom of a 0.8mtr Low scheduled for around 9.00am so Middle Reef was providing the best waves out there at the moment with head to head high plus waves (3-4ft). Kuta Reef will have some fun sized peelers as the tide starts to run back in with wave height in the chest to head high plus sector. Down on Airport left she seemed to be picking up more size than Kuta Reef with the odd set hitting the 4ft mark. Our next High tide will be a mid range 1.8mtr around 3.00pm.
Surfing conditions this morning were pretty clean but the wind was coming out of the NNE so still a touch cross-shore. But we can expect the ESE-SE Tradewind to kick in and adjust things for the better anytime soon.
Looking for a wave today well I reckon you could find waves at just about any location right along Bali’s West Coast this morning. From medewi and Balian way up the West Coast, Canggu around the mid west. The Outer Reefs here along the Tuban stretch, and down of the South Western end of the island Balangan, Bingin and Impossible’s would all have something. Looking for the better size and power then Uluwatu would be the place to head.
Weather wise it’s just another hot and sunny day coming on for us and heading for an expected top temperature of around 32 degree’s celsius.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard and twin share bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
Mentawai Islands; Ray has sent us through more photos and more reports from the Kandui Surf Resort and it looks like their guests have been getting what they paid for !
Swell forecast; according to what the charts have to say wave height should be increasing a touch more through out today and into Wednesday. Then through Thursday starting to back off but still holding in the 3-5ft+ range (up to double head high plus depending on location). Friday see’s the last of it with wave height fading fast and dropping back down into the 2-4ft class. Saturday and the game is just about over for this swell, come Sunday the only place that will be breaking is down at Uluwatu and then only in the 2-3ft (waist to head high at best). But further out down in the Indian Ocean there is another system in transit that we should start producing some fresh waves around Wednesday / Thursday next week.
Ok then that’s about me for this morning but check out these latest photos and there are some new ones for the bodyboarding community as well. Stay tuned cause shure as sh-t Hendra will have another load for us later this evening. I’m going surfing.
Best Regards from Bali
