****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning to everyone tuning into the baliwaves for todays look at surfing and weather conditions here on the ever popular surfing holiday destination of Bali. And thanks to Hendra and his Team down at Uluwatu for todays photos.
Well this morning I was expecting to see a little more swell hitting the Outer Reefs, instead wave height is still only showing in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Those old swell forecasters have had a rough year so far. Kuta Reef at 7.00AM was already looking pretty fat and sluggish with still another 2 hours of tide left to run in. There were at least half a dozen surfers out there chasing the waist to waist high plus set waves. Middle Reef also had too much water and not enough swell with wave height in the waist to chest high plus class. maybe later on in the day on the lower end of the tide Middle’s will have a few. Airport left was looking the best of the big 3 with set waves in the head high region.
Surfing conditions were clean enough with the wind coming out of the SSE @ 8-10knot+
Tidal info for today is calling for a 2.0mtr High @ 9.00AM and then running out for a 0.5mtr Low @ 3.00PM. Tomorrow see’s the Full Moon rising so at least we can expect some better tidal range.
Weather wise we’ve got another cloudy start to the day, and I don’t think it’ll be clearing up to soon. Temperature wise the mercury should make it to around 26-28 degree’s Celsius.
Sms surf report from the crew over at the G-land Surf Camp was saying that wave height has increased in size at G-Land this morning. Kongs has 3-4 footers while Money Tree’s and the Launching Pad were hitting a solid double head high. Good off-shore wind this morning and 8 surfers in the water at the time of the report.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok crew I’ll be keeping an eye on the waves through out the day and will let ya’s know via our Twitter mobile phone reports (baliwaves & balisurfreport) if there are any significant changes.
Have a good one
