****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves for our Sunday Session on todays surfing and weather conditions here in Bali.
This mornings 7.00am surf check on the Outer Reefs was as expected showing that wave height has dropped back down into the 1-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. I didn’t see any surfers in the water while I was on the beach. And with the tide on the run out there wasn’t even a wave on Middle Reef worth the effort, unless you are a grommet here on holiday of course.
Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy with no wind present. Yesterday afternoon the wind turned to the South so I’m also thinking our little Chrissy run of good wind has just about come to an end.
Tidal info has a 0.8mtr Low at midday and then running back in for a 2.1mtr High @ 6.00pm.
Looking for a wave the southern end of the island would be the best place to start looking. Uluwatu here on the West and Nusa Dua over on the East coast. But you’d be lucky to find anything bigger than chest high at best.
Weather wise today we are off to an overcast start but not looking like rain. Right now at 11.00am the temperature would be a pleasant 27 – 28 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Outlook for the next 7 days is showing a another small spike in wasve height on Wednesday through Thursday. And then another small swell arriving on Saturday to take us through the weekend. But it’s anyone’s guess what direction the wind will choose.
Kuta Beach fish stench up-date; While the wind turned back to the ESE we lost the stink of dead fish along the Kuta to Seminyak stretch of beach, with the off-shore wind carrying the dead fish and their smell away from the shore. And the net laying fishermen from Jimburan Bay really stepped up their operation with at least 40+ boats operating less than a kilometre out from the shore. This morning the local Kuta Council held a meeting to put an end to the boats working close to the beach, and hopefully an end to the once beautiful stretch of beach being littered and bombarded by the stench of roting fish.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here at Home Base in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$16.00 (Rp160,000) per night (single) or US$19.00 (Rp190,000) for a couple and US$26.00 (Rp260,000) twin share. Then contact slim.

As you all know we have been trialing a new photo viewing program to make it easier for you to flick through the photos on site. Ok, as you also should know is that we highly value our advertisers / sponsors, as they help pay our running costs / bills etc etc. So at the end of the trial period (1 month) if our advertisers / sponsors are still getting the same amount of views and visits then we will keep this system in place. If not then it’ll be back to the old system !!! So please make the time to visit the good folk who help keep the baliwaves on your monitor.
Best Regards from Bali
