****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for todays news on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Todays surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing slightly smaller waves but still breaking in the waist to waist high plus sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Once again the wind was coming out of the West and on-shore at around 4-6knot. So the best waves today will have been had over on the East Coast, anywhere between Green Bowls and Keramas. No surfers in the water on the Outer Reefs at the time and the early morning Low tide wasn’t helping any.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.2mtr Low @ 8.00am and then running back in for a 2.2mtr High around 2.00pm. We’ve also loaded up the complete tide charts for 2010 right here on the baliwaves.
Weather wise we had plenty of blue sky through the am but now @ 1.00pm the sky’s starting to cloud up. Temperature wise more hot and humid beach weather with the mercury some where around the 32 degree Celsius mark.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,480 — 1US$=Rp9,240 — rates will vary slightly for vendor to vendor. And don’t fall for the trap of higher than normal rates on offer. These operators are just baiting people to lure them in and then either try and cheat them or hit you with a hidden tax.
No photos from me today as I’ve been sanding the paint off my 8.5mtr Balinese traditional twin outrigger fishing boat getting her ready for a fresh coat of color and ready to go again.
