****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for our SUNDAY SESSION on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Well this morning things didn’t go as hoped for. My 6.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight increase in wave height, but the wind was already coming hard out of the SSW @ 10-14knot. Anyway I promised the crew here with us we would find some waves. So our first stop was over to Sri-Lanka. No luck, wave height here was only in the 1-2ft range and very inconsistent with 10 surfers already in the water. But at least at Sri-Lanka the wind was clean off-shore. So knowing that the wind had plenty of South in it the next (only other) option was to head for Serangan.
Serangan when we first pulled up was only breaking in the waist to shoulder high class and with the wind here more cross / off-shore. Already around 50+ surfers in the water. But it wasn’t long and there were soon shoulder to head high, then head high to double head high set waves pouring through. I did manage to shoot some photos but I’m going to let the Balian photos from yesterday run until tomorrow morning. We’ll be looking for another different location tomorrow !!!
Tidal info for today had us down for a 2.1mtr High @ 11.30am and then running back out for a 0.6mtr Low around the 5.30pm mark.
Weather wise it’s been basically just hot and sunny for the majority of today. Right now @ 4.30pm there are some dark and stormy clouds moving about and we could see some rain fall before tomorrow.
