Hi folks and thanks again for calling by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the best value for tropical surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
Ok so as I told ya’s in yesterdays surf report we were up at Canggu (once we got through the “changed” traffic). So here’s 30 photos from what we ended up surfing. Crowd wise with the on shore wind the numbers way lower than usual with only 12 or so surfers on the sand bar and another handful riding the ex-river mouth right.
This morning the 17th and our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height in the 2-3ft+ range, that’s between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy with the wind only just coming out of the East and off shore. The tide had just passed through the top of a mid range High.
So I got Ketut to take a run down to Uluwatu and see what was happening at Bali’s premier surfing location. Arriving at 8.45Am to find wave height still a healthy 3-5ft but with the wind having swung on shore now coming out of the South. Ketut did manage to shoot some photos and I’ll have those on line for you by tomorrow morning. Crowd wise at Ulu the numbers were only ranging in the 15-25 range.
From there Ketut made another pit stop surf check at Balangan. By that time the Southerly wind was much stronger and surfing conditions a little more mushy. But still there were 10 surfers in the water with wave height in the 2-4ft range. Ketut also rekons that while he was on the scene a mini tornado hit the beach sending beach umbrella’s flying.
Weather wise here in Bali today it’s been another mainly hot and sunnt one for all the beach lovers around the island. Right now at 3.30PM the temperature is still a warm 29 degree;s Celsius, Humidity is at 63%. Wind direction doi finally switch back to the SE and off shore right now from Kuta beach to Uluwatu.
The next tide today will be a 1.5mtr High at 5.30PM
Ok friends that’s me cause Ketut and I wanna launch the new boat later this afternoon and go for a snorkel and see if we can get some dinner.
