BALI
25th September 2014
Hi folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (the only baliwaves, since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the place we’d all rather be, Bali.
Ok so this mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off just a touch, but still delivering waves in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy with the wind light off shore out of the SE, tide running in.
So as it shows in today’s 47 strong photo gallery we headed down South to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Arriving around 8.30Am to find wave height still a fairly solid 3-5ft with a few 6ft bombs. But by this time the wind had swung more to the West and light on shore. But surfing conditions were still pretty tidy and only around 25 surfers scattered from Temple’s down through to the top end of the Racetrack. As the morning progressed the wind kept flicking about and eventually dedicated to the SSE- SE and semi off shore.
Coming home past Impossible’s around 1.30PM there didn’t seem to be a lot happening surf wise but there were quite a few surfers spread along the reef so I guess there must have been something happening.
Weather wise it’s been another mainly hot and sunny day here in Bali
I also just gotta mention just how bad the traffic is getting down on the bukit, pretty bad.
Ok folks another quick up date today as I’ve still got a load of stuff to get through before I can kick my thongs off and relax. When it rains it pours right, my off sider Ketut had a run in with a big black dog on his motor bike yesterday and came off second best. My other helper here at home managed to fall out of our mango tree two days ago.. so both my guys are side lined for now and it’s all me.
Ok one of the better Lombok & Sumbawa surf charter boats sent me an email earlier to let you people know that they have 3 scheduled charters left to see out the season.
Dreamweaver has only three trips with seats available before the end of our scheduled 2014 season, the dates with seats still left are Sept 30 to Oct 7, Oct 9 to 16, and Oct 18 to 25. It seems that we will be the only boat operating in October so that means even less crowds to deal with, and the swells have been coming through so its looking like a great month to be here. www.dreamweaver-surf.com email – [email protected] Bali Phone 0813 38355228
