Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com ( working through the weekends since 1999) for the latest news and views on surfing and weather conditions from here on our first choice tropical surfing holiday destination called Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 11th and we went back over to the East Coast in search of waves. Our first stop was at Secrets to find wave height in the 2-3ft range with the off slightly over head set wave, but the wind was already on shore out of the South. So it wasn’t as good as the other day we were there so we jumped back in the car and set off back tracking.
As it shows in this current photo gallery we ended up calling in at Serangan hoping that it wasn’t too blown out from the Southerly. Wave height was breaking in the 2-4ft range and there were still a few clean left and rights to be had. Crowd wise there were already around 30 surfers spread through the main area and another handful of surfers on the left hander.
Weather wise it was a pretty hot old Saturday so totally excusable to cool off with a few Bintangs watching the sun set.
Today the 12th and we’ve been back out trying our luck fishing in the Mangupura Cup fishing tournament. My team never hit the jackpot and missed out on the 3 outboard motors in prizes but we still managed to boat some nice sized Bonito Tuna. And I bet there will be a few yarns being told at tonight’s presentation party.
Most of the boats were fishing down off Uluwatu today and I can tell you that this morning wave height had picked up some from yesterday here on Bali’s West Coast. Wind direction earlier today was only light and variable and surfing conditions were fairly clean and glassy through until late morning.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly hot and sunny day, warm to hot and especially if you were out at sea in an open boat. Right now at 4.00PM and the wind is fresh out of the S-SW at 9 – 13knot.
