****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi crew and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for today’s 1 click run down on surfing and weather conditions from the only place to head for when you have got surfing holidays on your mind, and that’s Bali.
This mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was looking very promising, with our forecasted swell starting to turn up a good 12hrs earlier than expected. At the time wave height was already showing in the waist to head high class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions then were clean and glassy with the wind still pretty well non existent.
As it shows in today’s 59 strong photo gallery the boys and I decided to try and sneak a few waves in down on Uluwatu’s Racetrack section while the tide was moving out, and before the swell got too big for the Track. When we arrived @ 8.30AM wave height was hitting the Main Peak in the head to over head range with something like 25 surfers scattered between the Peak and the Track. It wasn’t long after that the Racetrack was starting to fire through some nice tube rides, that the swell started to grow into the double to tripple head high range and that was the end of the Racetrack. But the Main Peak was still delivering some thick and solid waves. As the tide got towards the bottom of 1.1mtrs Low tide mark the Bomby way out the back started to break and peel all the way through to the Main Peak.
Driving back home passing over the bridge at Padang Padang there were plenty of head to over head lines peeling down Impossible’s Reef all the way to Bingin. I’m pretty sure there would have been a few practice waves at Padang Padang itself even. Hopefully this swell is not going to peak over night and that tomorrow it’ll be going off all over Bali and Indonesia for that matter.
The next High tide is happening right now @ 5.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been a 50/50 type day hot and humid when the sun busted out with a midday temp of around 34 degree’s Celsius. Right now @ 5.15PM the outside temperature is still a warm 29C, overcast sky and the humidity on 79%. Wind direction is coming out of the South East @ 17kms.
Ok crew, sit tight and hopefully we’ll be delivering the good for ya’s again tomorrow if the swell is there we’ll be on it.
