BALI
18th – 19th December 2014
Hello friends of Bali and thanks again for stopping by your baliwaves (the one and only baliwaves, beware of imposters, since back in 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on everybody’s first choice tropical surfing holiday destination called BALI.
Ok well I was a little short on time yesterday afternoon so I’ve just added a few more photos from the 18th into the 19th’s folder and bang here we are.
Yesterday the 18th and we made another visit back over to Serangan on Bali’s East side, seeing as though we scored well there the day before. Arriving around 8.00AM to find more perfect left and rights breaking in the chest to well over head high class. Surfing conditions were just as good with a fresh off shore Westerly wind fanning the waves. But around 10.00AM a big black Southerly front moved over and temprarily blew and rained it out. The storm lasted for like an hour and a half and then the wind switched back off shore and the waves kept pumping. The crowd had also bailed out when the weather hit so it was happy days.
Today the 19th and I was short on time again. So after my 6.45AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was only showing 2-3ft waves between Kuta reef and Airport left, with the wind coming out of the West again. I deceided on just taking the easy option and heading back over to the East Coast for a quick 1hr photo session. Arriving at 9.20AM to find wave height in the 2-3ft range with the wind kinda cross / off shore. But there were still some nice waves breaking. With wave height dropping the surf schools were also there in bulk attendance and maybe 60-70 surfers* in the water.
Weather wise today we have had a mainly hot and sunny day for the best part of it but right now at 5.00PM there is some cloud moving in on us here in Tuban. Temperature wise we have 27 degree’s Celsius, with Humidity on 79%. Wind is out of the West at 7- 10knot.
With the swell predictions showing a fading swell over the next couple of days I think I’ll be pushing the double outrigger down and doing some live baiting / sport fishing. So stay tuned and see how I go.
Hey now with the summer happening here in the Southern Hemisphere I’m sure there are going to be plenty of you Northerners heading “down under” to Australia’s famous Gold Coast area to sample some “Super Bank” waves after your time on this island. Or maybe to do some unique surf trips with the best surf camp in Australia. Well you people had better check out these two websites.
