****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for hanging around the baliwaves.com this afternoon for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions to come out of the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so you’ve already read our morning twitter up dates I posted after the mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Just in case, wave height was still only showing in the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left @ 6.45AM. Clean surfing conditions with the wind coming lightly out of the ENE @ 3-6kms.
So all we could do was wait, wait for the swell that was still transiting to Bali. Our midday swell recon hadn’t changed much at all and we were starting to get a bit worried, but by 2.00PM there were definate signs of rising surf. Still we hung out and waited for the tide to keep draining off the reef. Driving South past Padang Padang there still wasn’t enough size for it to work, so we pushed on to Uluwatu.
Arriving to see wave height breaking from Temple’s down to the Main Peak in the 3-5ft range (head to double head high). With the occasional 3 – 4ft screamer barreling off down through the low tide Racetrack section. As the tide bottomed out for a 0.1mtr Low around 5.00PM wave height by now was pretty well hitting the double to triple head high PLUS region. Too big for the Racetrack but now breaking on the outside Racetrack (not too be mistaken with the Outside Corner, that’s another class up again).
Hopefully we’ll see even a little more size for tomorrow and fingers crossed hanging in there to coincide with the afternoon low tide. So just stay tuned into our twitter up dates through the morning and you’ll know what’s going down in Bali.
Tidal info for today had a 2.6mtr High @ 11.30AM and then bottoming out for a 0.1mtr Low around the 5.30PM mark.
Weather wise, blue sky and hot with medium to strong off shore wind, what more do we want weather wise ? Right now at 8.30PM the outside temperature is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius, Humidity @ 84%. Wind direction is coming out of the ESE @ 33kms.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to the G-land Surf Camp was calling the new swell to be showing a little earlier over on East Java. At 7.00AM East Java time wave height was hitting Kongs and Money Tree’s in the head to almost double head high range (wonder how big it is by now). Only 3 surfers in the water on Money Tree’s with the off shore wind just starting to kick in.
