BALI
15th – 16th January 2015
Hi folks and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves.com (giving that little bit extra since back in 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s most popular tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so here we go again with a solid 52 strong photo gallery that we shot yesterday over on the East side of the island.
In fact first off on the 15th with only a light and variable wind early in the morning we took another run dow to the South Western end of the island to Uluwatu. Arriving just after 7.00AM but by that time the Westerly wind had already kicked in and trashed conditions at Ulu. Wave height was in the waist to head high plus from Temple’s down through to the Racetrack.
From there we made a bee line over to the East coast to turn the Westerly wind into a clean off shore wind. Arriving at our destination around 8.45AM to find some absolutely perfect waves breaking both left and right in the chest to well over head high class. So good in fact that we hung out for two solid sessions before a big Southerly gut buster blew up around 1.00PM and blew out the waves.
Weather wise it was a nice morning before the Southerly and the hard rain kicked in. Temperature wise the mercury was still over the 30 degree’s Celsius mark by midday.
This morning the 16th and first off we took a run up the East coast to Secrets arriving at 6.45AM. But swell wise is was a no go even though surfing conditions were clean as a whistle with a light off shore wind blowing.
From there we cruised up the Keramas and again wave height was also only in the 1ft range and in the 20mins we were there only saw one wave actually break. Surfing conditions were fine with the wind off shore but with 15+ surfers in the water..
So for our last resort we headed back down the coast and found some waist to head high waves and managed to get a few small but fun waves. With so few options available this morning it was understandable to have plenty of other surfers also in the water.
Weather wise today it’s been a mainly hot and sunny morning with a few clouds starting to fill in now at 2.00PM. temperature wise outside the mercury is on 32 degree’s Celsius, Humidity on 78%. Wind direction is coming mainly out of the West at 5-10knot.
The next tide today is going to be a 2.1mtr High around 7.00PM
