BALI
8th – 9th March 2015
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week here on the only sane choice for your next hard earned tropical surfing holiday called Bali.
Yesterday the 8th and we covered a few miles and checked several locations before finally finding some chest to head high and the occasional over head sets at Keramas. Our first surf check was at Serangan to find 1-2 footers and perfect conditions for the 100 learners all over it. Then we stopped in at Secrets to only find 1-2 footers breaking on the shore break with 5 surfers already making the most of conditions. So I guess we were lucky to find head high waves breaking at the always popular line up of Keramas. By that time the wind had started to flicker around to the NE – E but there were still a few clean sections to smash.
Today the 9th and we have Ketut out on location at Canggu this morning. Ketut and the boys left pretty early just as the sun was starting to rise to improve their chances of some clean and un crowded waves. Wave height on the 3 main sections of Canggu had 2-3ft or waist to head high waves with a light off shore wind on arrival. Clean and glassy conditions lasting through until 9.00AM. It must be still ok out there as the boys have just hit it again for a second session. We’ll have to wait and see Ketut’s photos later this evening.
Weather wise out there today we are back to a nice blue sky and shaping up for a perfect beach day. Temperature wise outside the mercury has just reached 28 degree’s Celsius @ 10.00AM, Humidity level is on 90%. With the wind now coming lightly out of the West @ 3-6knot.
I didn’t see the dollar exchange rates yesterday but I’ll let ya’s know next up date.
