****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com (’99) for today’s “1 click” run down on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on everybodies favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Firstly sorry about only posting a twitter surf report yesterday as it was a huge day of departure’s and arrivals. But I still managed to load ya’s up a new surf up date from the Kandui Resort (real) up in the Mentawai’s. Plus I think I also loaded around 50 photos from Bingin absolutely cranking, they went into the READERS REPORT page.
But anyway this morning’s surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing very consistent head to double head high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Even at 6.30AM surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs was already a little wind effected from the strong off shore ESE Tradewind gusting @ 15-12knot. The tide was still in at the time and Kuta Reef did have some screamers peeling off but just a pity the wind was so strong.
Looking for some shelter from the wind we decided on heading down to Balangan. At 7.30AM wave height was a real fun looking head to well over head with the wind fresh off shore @ 16-20knots. but with a little cliff face protection. It wasn’t too much longer and those 3 – 4 footers were now pushing 4-5ft+ and the tide running out. When we turned up at Balangan there would have been lucky to be 6 surfers in the water and after the first clean up set it was down to 4.
Tidal info for today had us scheduled for a 1.9mtr High around the 6.30AM mark and then running out for a 0.7mtr Low @ 2.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been a real nice day except for the howling off shore wind. Temperature wise it would have maxed out around 29 degree’s Celsius. The water temp has also dropped off since this wind began, currently on 19.5 degree’s Celsius.
New’s in from our friends at Kuta Lines was that over on the East Coast of Bali there were some waves but totally wind affected.
