Hello surfers and thanks for calling by the baliwaves ’99 for our special Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.

Ok, you know it is Sunday so I’m going to keep this as brief and short as I possibly can. First of all my 6.15AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have bumped up a touch. With chest to well over head set waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide still on the run in there was some nice waves breaking on both Kuta and Middle Reefs and surfers already starting to make their way out there.

Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the North @ 1-3knot.

So as it shows in today’s photo gallery, “tater” and I made our way up to Canggu looking for even cleaner conditions. We did knoe that the Oakley Pro Junior was well and truelly underway, but we also knew that the contest would be using the right hander for the event. Not the grinding left hand sand bar. Only 7 surfers were riding the sand bar and it was indeed grinding through in the head to well over head class. While the competitors were also scoring some very nice waves on the right hander also in the head to well over head class, perfect high performance waves.

Conditions stayed clean and tidy through until around 9.00AM when the ESE-SE off shore Tradewind kicked back in.

So today’s gallery starts of with a collection of photos from the Oakley Pro Junior then switches over to the left hand sand bar, finishing off with some street scenes from between Tuban and Canggu.

Weather wise, it’s Bali…. hot and sunny.
