****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello all, and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves ’99 (Bali’s first and still the premier surf and weather information website), for the latest news on today’s waves from right here on your most favorite surfing holiday destination, Bali.
We’ve got a huge line up for ya’s today, but first I’ll give ya’s the run down on what it is on the Outer Reefs of Tuban, then I’ve got 50 odd photos delivered to us from our old friends at Hendra Surf Photography (Uluwatu) featuring my favorite “The Racetrack” low tide tube machine. Then a bit later (after some more editing) we’ll have a tonne of photos that Ketut blasted up at Canggu this morning of the final day’s action from the Oakley World Pro Junior mens. So stick it out right here on the baliwaves, because we always try to keep our material as original and complete as can be.
Ok this morning surf check on the Outers was to me showing wave height to have backed off a notch with waist to head high set waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Plenty of surfers in the water on all 3 of the main sections with surfing conditions clean and tidy. Even though the wind was SSE that’s pretty much still an off shore wind from the Racetrack at Uluwatu back up to Kuta Beach.
Canggu according to Ketut was also clean and glassy when he arrived at 8.00AM with slightly more swell up there. Around head to slightly over head (2-3ft+) hitting the right hander where the contest was being run and similar size on the left hand sand bar. More high performance conditions for the super grommets, as you’ll see when we get the photos edited and on line.
Tidal info for today had a 2.0mtr High @ 10.00AM and then is going to be bottoming out with a 0.4mtr Low around 4.00PM. We also have a Full Moon rising tonight so we are going to be seeing more of those big big tidal differances over the next few days.
Weather wise there was a couple of clouds hanging about this morning before the wind kicked in but by mid morning it’s been blue sky and sun shine for the beach lovers here on holiday. Currently right now at 1.30PM the outside temperature is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius with a Humidity level of 59%. Wind direction is now SE @ 12knt. Sunrise was @ 5.58AM and will set @ 6.13PM.

Swell Predictions for the next few days are showing a decreasing swell but hold onto your hats as come Saturday we should have some serious x 2 swell showing on our reefs. With not 1 but 2 big swells in transit to the holiday island.
