****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for calling into the baliwaves ’99 for today’s news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the “back in season” tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Late yesterday afternoon there was a definite visual change to wave height with the new swell starting to arrive. And it was a pretty sight on this mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs. Wave height was roaring through in the solid head to double head high plus plus sector between Kuta Reef and Airports. With the early AM Low tide there were even solid 6 footers breaking way out in the middle of the Bay of Legian (Karang Tengah).
I didn’t see any surfers in the water at the time, but with a clean off shore wind coming out of the SE @ 4-8knt and the promise of a 2.1mtr High Tide @ midday there’s going to be !
Kuta Reef should be smoking through as I type this report… Plus there could even be a couple of sly ones on Airport Right if the wind doesn’t get too much stronger.
Changing dollars to Rupiah (last night) on the streets of Kuta; — 1AU$=Rp9,030 — 1US$=Rp8,950 —
Weather wise right now at 10.30AM the outside temperature is a hot and sunny 28 degree’s Celsius and should easily bust into the low 30’s by midday. Humidity level is sitting on 74% and the wind coming out of the SE @ 7-10knt. Sunrise was at 5.59AM and will be setting at 6.13PM. So if you want to catch the sunset make sure your down along the beach by 6.00PM as she sure does sink fast.
Today’s photo gallery has once again been contributed by our friends at Hendra Surf Photography located down at Bali’s Premier surfing location of Uluwatu. That’s about all I’ve got for you today but we’ll definitely be heading out somewhere to shoot some more action for ya’s. So if ya get time drop in for tomorrows Sunday Session here on the baliwaves.com
