****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and welcome back to your baliwaves ’99 for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the absolute No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well I reckon Christmas came early for some lucky buggers today here in Bali. We had decided on getting an early start this morning and heading directly to Keramas on Bali’s east Coast. But we still never made it until around 6.30AM, finding wave height punching through at a generous head to double head high. Perfect surfing conditions, with an in coming tide and light off shore wind. We were lucky at first with only 4 other surfers in the water at Keramas but within the hour or so there would have been 30+ surfers looking to get barrelled. There were some sik long and deep tube rides this morning and plenty of smiles. We packed up at 10.00AM when the wind started to swing more to the W-WSW and cross on shore.
I also had an sms surf report from a friend who was on location at Serangan (also on the East Coast of Bali) calling in wave height in the 2-3ft+ sector @ 5.45AM. Ultra clean surfing conditions with 5 surfers in the water.
Tidal info for today had a 1.5mtr High @ 8.00AM and then running out to a 0.8mtr Low @ 1.30PM. The next Moon Phase will be a New Moon rising on the 24th and just in time for Chrissy.
Weather wise out there today we’ve had a mainly hot and sunny day, but there are some clouds starting to loiter about this afternoon and a big possibility of some evening rain. Temperature wise right now at 3.00PM the mercury is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius wind is West at 10-12knot+
