****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (’99) again to see what’s going down surf and weather wise on the tropical paradise surfing holiday destination of Bali.
And it’s been another neat day of surf and weather here in Bali. I took my first surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban at 6.00AM to find wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left making the head to double head high sector. But at the time was still only light and not the optimum for the long walled waves. So I advised my crew to hang out for awhile as surfing conditions would only get better and better once the SE Tradewind kicked in.
But you know how it goes, the boys couldn’t wait. Like everyone else and went and surfed a still very tidy Kuta Reef in the head to well over head size with around 15 other keen surfers. Still not too bad at all scoring Kuta Reef peeling off with only that many guys out. The SE Trade wind did eventually kick in around 2.00PM, and by the time the reef taxi came to collect them at 3.00PM there were less than 10 surfers left. Further down on Middle Reef there were some solid bombs bending in at a very believable triple head high on the bigger set waves. I’d probably imagine there’d even maybe be a few sly waves breaking down at Padang Padang this afternoon.
Tidal info for today had us scheduled for a 2.0mtr High @ 9.00AM and then running out to a 0.6mtr Low around the 3.00PM mark. We are also coming closer to the next New Moon rising on Friday night. So we will have much better tidal ranges for our next transiting swell.
Weather wise there was a little bit of slow moving cloud about earlier but once the Trade wind kicked in it’s been just blue sky. Temperature wise the mercury would have reached 32 degree’s Celsius. Currently right now at 6.00PM the wind is coming sweetly out of the SE @ 12-15knot.
Tomorrow is looking good for some more solid waves through the morning then slowly tapering off through the afternoon and into Thursday. Friday morning should show another solid swell kicking off and keeping us in waves through to early next week.
