****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for taking the time out to stop by the baliwaves (since ’99) for the very latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the best choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Kicking off with a 6.30Am surf check on the Outer Reefs to find wave height a consistent 3-3ft+ breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was pretty well on the bottom so we knew things were only going to be getting better in an hour or two. Glassy surfing conditions with the wind light out of the North @ 1-2knot.
As it shows we headed elsewhere and found some solid 3-4 footers with a clean off shore breeze. Plenty of left and rights on offer with around 30 surfers scattered through it. As the tide kept creeping in so did wave height keep getting bigger. By 11.00AM the bigger sets on the right hander were almost maxing out in the double head high range, while the left hander had turned into a giant washing machine of turbulance.
Aaron from Columbia Apartments located in front of Australia’s Super bank has texted through earlier this morning calling wave height at Balian was punching into the solid 6ft class and pretty messed up with strong currents. Only 4 surfers in the water at 8.30AM. So in that case I’d have to imagine that a little further up the coast at Medewi it would have been pretty good hey. New photos in the Readers Report section shortly.
Tide wise today we had a 0.5mtr Low @ 6.00AM then filling to a 2.6mtr High @ 12.00PM and finishing off with a dry 0.1mtr Low @ 6.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been another mainly hot and sunny day with a few cloudy breaks to help us stay cool. Temperature wise right now @ 4.50PM the mercury is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is 70%. Wind direction currently coming out of the SE @ 4-7knots.
