Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (hitting the nail on the head since 1999) for today’s Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination that just doesn’t stop producing the perfect waves, BALI.
Ok moving right along, today’s action went down at KUTA REEF and she ain’t no secret location that’s fo sure. We hired a reef boat from the beach here in Tuban and were in position by 6.45AM. There were already 9 other surfers in the water when I threw the anchor over and wave height was a consistent 3-4ft with just a slight hint of a NE breeze. As the tide kept pushing in wave height was also kreeping up and the wind swung to the East and straight off shore around 9.00AM. But by this time there would have been close to 30 surfers on it, still plenty of waves bending down the living coral reef. By the time we packed up for lunch it was looking even better and more consistent and only a dozen surfers left out there. Believe it or not there was one chick in the water who was being pushed into the waves and oblivious to any one else, the worst thing was that she couldn’t have done a turn if her life depended on it…. or if someone else’s depended on it.
Oh yeah, almost forgot dept. The stand out surfers today at KR were hands down the grommets from Kuta. Each time one of em got a wave you could here the laughter and hooting from 100yrs away :)
Ok it’s Sunday afternoon already and I wanna head back down to the beach and cool off with the boys. Tune in again tomorrow cause we’ll be back out there again bring a little bit of Bali to your screens.
Weather wise today, 32C, humid, hot, sunny, blue sky, afternoon thunder.
