BALI
4th – 5th November 2012
Hi surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com ( The original Bali surf report since 1999) for the start of another surfing week here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok then like I mentioned on the 3rd yesterday the 4th was our annual Kuta Beach Fishing Tourmament day and I’ve competed in every one that’s been run, so no way I was missing out. The day kicked off with a 6.00AM meeting and the start siren sounded at 6.30AM. My boat headed way up the coast near Balian and we did manage to boat a couple of Spanish Mackerel and also managed to lose a few more of the same. Even though we didn’t finish close to top 3 boats there were a lot of boats that didn’t even boat 1 fish. So that was good enough for my Team, Wayan Kara and Slim. I’m sure we’ll do better next year.
This morning and with no swell and a light Northerly wind we had no choice other that to hit the road long before sun up and take on the highway west. Arriving at our destination at 6.30AM to find 7 surfers in the water on an A frame left and right, wave height was a fun sized 2-3ft with the occassional bigger freak set. Surfing conditions were clean as it gets with a light off shore wind that lasted through until 9.00AM and just in time for breakfast.
Weather wise we did pass through some early morning rain in the Seminyak area on our way up the coast. But apart from that the rest of the day has been just another hot and humid Bali summers day. Currently right now at 3.15AM the mercury is still sitting on 34 degree’s Celsius with the wind coming out of the E-SE @ 8-12knot.
