Howdy surfers and welcome to the machine. Well this morning we had more rough weather blowing into Bali outta the Southern quadrant. My day began at 4.30am getting ready to go and chase down Spanish Mackeral from the Bali Sea. The rain started around 5.00am and the wind was blowing lightly outta the NW at 2knot. Cruising out past Kuta Reef just as the sky was starting to lighten up, enough to make out the waves anway. Kuta Reef was still producing some little ones in the waist to shoulder high class and there were bigger head high sets hitting Middle Reef. Once we made it outside the reefs our attention (me and my friend, Gede Ondel) switched straight over to big game mode, and it wasnt long before we had a pair of Giant Trevallys in the boat. Sometime around 7.30am a wicked storm blew in, first obscuring the whole of the Bukit (Uluwatu etc) then making its way towards us. Needless to say we kept on fishing, our smokes and lighters still safe and dry. We found Spanish Mackeral alright and plenty of double hook-ups in the process. Not too mention various types of Tuna taking our lures and spinners. Coming back past the Outer reefs around 1.00pm wind direction was coming outta the WSW @ 3-6knot and on-shore. Wave height was still pushing head high plus over on Middle Reef and waist high on Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
So, to some up surfing conditions in Bali today, with an educated guess. Fun sized waves but mainly on-shore here along the West coast, but there were moments when there was bugger all wind.
Now back to buisness, last night I got another sneak preview of the new look baliwaves.com, Troy, the brains behind this outfit has been working his butt off getting it together and we are only about another week away from unleasing it on yas.
As soon as I get back from collecting my new surfboards from DIVERSE (GOLD COAST, AU) the reports / photos / videos are going to be flowing and your going to be hard pressed keeping up with them. You see we are getting so much LOCAL support from the Balinese, at last, and plenty of photographers and cinamatographers VOLUNTEERING to help out the baliwaves machine. An its all to keep you guys in the know with whats happening here in Bali.
Ok Im calling in sick tomorrow… but stay tuned cause Ill be filling yas in while Im cruising the East Coast of Australia over the next week or so. Alright then you lot take care out there and hopefully Ill get to meet a lot of yas this year over here in Bali. Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination in Your World.
