Welcome back to the baliwaves, especially to all you surfers finding us for the first time. Yesterday, Sunday the 19th and at first light the wind was already howling outta the WSW here along Bali’s famous West Coast making surfing conditions real ugly. A couple of surfers that are home basing with us here in Tuban made the trek over to Serangan (East Coast) and reckoned wave height over there was only pushing waist high with the occassional shoulder high freak set. But I suppose compared to what we have outside this morning the 20th yesterdays weather conditions were real good… Currently here in Bali it’s been bucketing down rain since last night and still going strong now at 9.30am. On the Outer Reefs of Tuban you can’t really distinguish between wind chop and wave. Wind direction is once again howling outta the WSW at something like 20knot+. The ole synoptic charts are not looking real exciting for the immediate future, but there is some movement down in the Southern Indian Ocean and hopefully it should make it’s way up into our swell window sometime in the next 3-5 days.
For anyone on their way to Bali don’t forget that on the 30th of this month it’s “Hari Nyepi” That’s the day that everyone has to stay off the streets and beaches and remain indoors at where ever they are staying for 24 hours. Ok there’s not much else I can give ya’s today except that we have loaded a new video clip, courtesy of “Dennis” that was filmed at Keramas late last week. Ya can find that at the bottom of this page. Make sure you submit your email address into the box over on the left of the page and everytime I load a new surf report you’ll have it automatically emailed to your inbox. Do us a favour will ya, take a look at our sponsors who support baliwaves.com without their support there wouldn’t be no baliwaves.com
Feel free to drop us an email if ya have any questions that might help improve your wave count when your here in Bali. Likewise if ya need a laid back, cheap, clean and surfer friendly place to chill at within walking distance down to the Outer reefs, but, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. Alright have a good day out there and hopefully we’ll be seeing ya here in Bali in 2006.
Best Regards from Your Bali
Slim.
