**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy to everyone tunin in to the baliwaves this morning and we hope you’ve been having a good weekend out there. Here in Bali things have been going our way, with plenty of fine weather and waves. Yesterday the wind did swing on-shore blowing outta the the WSW upta 5-6knot. That happened around 11.00am, then around 5.00pm she swung back off-shore outta the ESE. This morning my recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking pretty good. Wave height has increased again on yesterdays size with 2-5ft of more solid swell hitting Kuta Reef down to Airport Right. Kuta Reef was breaking consistently at 2-3ft+ with one surfer in the water at 7.00am. Middle Reef was smokin through 5 foot sets with 3 surfers on it. Even Airport Left was peeling off nicely at 3-4ft but with no one out. Wind direction was coming outta the NNE at 2-3knot but I’m sure it’s not going to stay there for too much longer, it could go either way at this stage. Outside we have another cloudless start to the day, so more perfect holiday weather is on the way. I tell ya, it only gets better in Bali from here on in. I’m going to be cruising down to Uluwatu very shortly in the hope to get some video footage and more photos for ya. Yesterday I also received an sms from one of my good friends who works over in one of the hotels at Lakey Peak over on the island of Sumbawa. He told me ta tell ya all that wave height over on Lakey Peak was in the 3-4ft class with perfect conditions through until lunch time. He also told me that were around 50 visiting surfers in total staying in the area to share the 7 different perfect wave set-ups. The other good news is that LION AIR is still flying there from Bali to Bima, allowing surfboards on their flights. Drop us a line if ya would like any info on the different hotels available over there etc etc. Also feel free to email us for any info that might help ya clock up a higher wave count on your 2006 Indo surfing holiday. Ok then tune in later this afternoon if your keen for a look at how it really was in Bali today. Best Regards from your 100% surfer friendly Bali.
One more very important thing before I go dept: A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected] (sorry I left out the dash before)
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
