**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning to all you reef riders and lovers of fine weather tuning in to the baliwaves. As you can se by these photographs I took yesterday the waves were cranking down at Uluwatu. I never made the journey down to the bukit until 9.45am and was stoked to see 3-5ft+ sets hitting the Main Peak straight out in front of the cliffside warungs. It was a hard call wether to shoot stills or video, but the photographer in me eventually won out. The crowd was averaging around 35, but not all sitting in one pack. I also ended up setting up the video camera at 11.30am but by then the wind was tending to the SW and taking the shine outta the waves. But I still managed to get enough footage to cut ya’s a 1 minute clip, but I’ll be doing that a bit later on this morning. My 6.30am recon of the Outer Reefs todays was showing that we still have plenty of swell available with wave height still pushing the 2-4ft+ range in between Kuta Reef and Airport Right, and as usual Middle Reef is picking up the bigger sets. The tide was just at the top of the high while I was on the beach so the better quality waves were rolling through on Kuta Reef and Airport Left. I’m sure that tucked around on the other side of the airport runway Airport Right woulda also been producing some nice waves. Uluwatu would also havta be cranking again this morning. The wind was only just existent, coming outta the East, so we’ll have to wait and see what it’s gunna do as the day gets going. Outside we have another full blue sky and the temperature should easily reach into the mid 30’s Celcius by midday (outta the shade). While the water temp is sitting on very inviting 23-24C. Ok crew I’ll be keeping an eye on the waves and weather, actually I’ll probably be out there surfing. So tune in later on cause I’ll be loading the video clip in another hour or two, then I’ll be back with the afternoon surf up-date this evening. Plenty of good reasons to keep coming back to the baliwaves. In the mean time ya can send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali. Until later have a top day where eva ya are out there and hopefully we’ll see ya’s here in Bali in 2006.
One more very important thing before I go dept: A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
