**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves this afternoon. My first surf check today was of the Outer Reefs of Tuban at 6.30am. And I tell ya’s, there were a few nice waves coming through at Kuta Reef in the 2-3ft+ range and fairly consistant. Likewise across at Airport Lefts, while the tide was making 3-4ft+ Middle Reef a bit too fat. At this point in time the wind was blowing lightly off-shore outta the ENE@ 1-2knot. There was still no one in the water at this stage, but I have since found out that the crowd did get into the mid 30’s on Kuta Reef and at Airport Left. I took off for Uluwatu and arrived on location at 8.30am to find surfing conditions were still clean, even though the wind had shifted to the WNW. There were only 18 surfers in the water and wave height pushing 4ft+. But my mid morning to lunch time the crowd had grown to something like 50+ surfers spread out from the Main Peak down to the Racetrack. By 12.00 noon when I was packing there were occassional 6 foot clean up sets coming through. Coming home past Padang Padang there wasn’t much happening but across at the top end of Impossible’s there were lots of 2-3ft+ lines bending down the reef towards Bingin. Right now at 2.10pm the wind has turned further to the WSW and increased upta 4-6knot. More perfect holiday weather for the crew here on Bali. The temperature outside is still sitting on around 30 degree’s Celcius and the sky has been pretty well blue all day. I also happened to shoot a few minutes of DV for ya’s so I’ll cut that up for ya later on and ya’ can see for yourself what it was like down at Ulu today. Alright then I’ll be up with the sparrows again tomorrow morning so drop in if ya wanna know what’s happening over here on the 100% surfer friendly island of Bali.
I have been asked to pass on to the baliwaves.com crew some special prices for anyone who’s been thinking of hitting the Mentawai Islands. He’s going to give another 5%-10% discount to any of you surfers for any bookings for this month, April ’06. Here’s a quick break down of what he’s got for ya’s, and if your interested shoot him an email straight away.

A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
