**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** G’day crew and welcome back to the baliwaves. Well, more perfect surfing conditions here along Bali’s West Coast for the holiday crew already on the Island of the God’s. I couldn’t go past it either again today. My 6.15am surf check of the Outer Reefs of Tuban revealed wave height still ranging in the 2-4ft class on the original, old school wave size scale. The tide was just starting it’s run in and the wind was blowing cleanly off-shore outta the ESE at 3-6knot. This time I took Sarge and the boys around to Airport Rights to give em a taste of some perfect right handers, located on the southern side of the Airport runway. We didn’t get around there till 8.00am and even as we were pulling our boat into the channel we were looking at 3-4ft sets peeling off. The crowd was pretty good on arrival with only something like a dozen surfers in the water and plenty of waves coming through, almost non-stop action. But at 9.30am the Japanese dawn patrol starting arriving in force, one boat pulled up with 8 mal riders….. But that only serves us right for getting there so late ourselves. Airport Left was also breaking nicely in the 2-3ft+ range when we came past on the way back home and Middle Reef was picking up a more solid 3-4ft+. Kuta Reef was not getting as much swell but still some perfect little 1-2ft+ lines wrapping on to it. Right now at 5.15pm the sky is just starting to cloup up some and there is a rumble of distant thunder. The temperature is just starting to cool down from it’s peak of 32 degree’s Celcius, and I assure you the water was great for boardshorts. The wind has increased, but still basically coming outta the ESE at around 6-10knot. Ok, now that it truelly is the season to be merry, anyone interested in getting over to the magical destination of G-Land can drop me an email and I’ll make sure ya get a fat discount at the camp of your choice. Likewise for the Lakey Peak Crew, we got all the info on how you can get yaself there for cost price. Alright I’m going to try and hold back from going surfing tomorrow in order to get ya’s some new photos and maybe some more video clips. So make sure ya drop into some baliwaves again tomorrow.
I have been asked to pass on to the baliwaves.com crew some special prices for anyone who’s been thinking of hitting the Mentawai Islands. The owner of one of the the largest charter operations for the area has some vacancies to fill on quite a few of his boats. He’s going to give another 5%-10% discount to any of you surfers for any bookings for this month, April ’06. Here’s a quick break down of what he’s got for ya’s, and if your interested shoot him an email straight away.

A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
