**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Welcome back to the baliwaves, well there was a change in plans today I’m sorry. I was just packing up the car to head over to the East coast when a couple of of the crew were just getting back from Serangan. There advice was “don’t bother”, their report of 1-3ft waves and off/cross-shore conditions along with a solid crowd was enough to turn me off from making the same mistake. So the waiting game continues. Right now @ 5.30pm the sky has clouded over and the wind has shifted a bit more to the WSW. The mercury easily made it to 28 degree’s Celcius by midday. Oh well, we’z just gunna have ta wait and see what we get dealt out tomorrow surf wise. Tune in if your interested in keeping in touch with Bali’s surf and weather conditions. L8R !
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey good morning surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves. My 6.15am recon of the Outer Reefs today was to find wave height in the 1-3ft range in between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, while the tide was still pretty full. Wind direction was blowing outta the WNW at 7-8knot and on-shore here along Bali’s West coast. So for those who are keen enough the East coast is the place to search for some surfing. Yesterday a few of the surfers from here at Home Base cruised over to Serangan and reckoned it was ok surfwise (new arrivals). They were calling 3-4ft+ breaking both left and right, but shifty. The newly formed T.C. (Hubert) that was sitting down below Indonesia yesterday woulda had something to do with the boost in wave height. Weather wise outside the sky is starting to clear up from last nights showers but there is still some heavy looking cloud hanging around over the bukit area. Now @ 8.00am the temperature is sitting around 24C, and cloud or no cloud should reach into the late 20’s by mid day. Me I’ll be borrowing a car and scraping some petrol money together to go check out the East coast later this morning so make sure ya tune back in this evening for the full run down on surfing conditions. Ha, I thought I was patient enough to wait it out for the wind to swing, nah, cracked. Well I think it’s gotta be time to hit the Bintangs (beer), everyone knows that if ya get on the piss heavily, the surfs gunna be cranking the next day. Sure as hell. So get ready for some more photo additions into the Night Club page, coming very soon. Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta: — 1US$=Rp9,020. — 1AU$=Rp6,490 — 1UK$=Rp15,825 — Here’s an (un-healthy) example of what a holiday dollar can buy, 1 packet of Marlboro ciggerettes cost Rp8,000. 1 large bottle of cold Bintang beer is around the Rp11,000. mark. Ok then have a good one out there today and keep thinking about those long green perfect Indo barrels coming. Best Regards from 100% surfer friendly Bali.

A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
