**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hey crew, well it’s taken awhile to arrive but at last it’s here ! This morning I was down looking at Kuta Reef breaking in the 3-4ft+ range and I tell ya’s it was hard task to not run and grab my 6’2″. Nah, instead I grabbed the 14mp SLR and 1000mm lense and headed straight for Uluwatu (my turn tomorrow) I made it down South to Uluwatu at 8.45am while the tide was low enough for the Racetrack section to still be producing deep throated tube rides. Through the morning session wave height on the Main Peak was still just pushing the 5-5ft+ range but as the tide pushed in the sets started hitting the 6-8ft class. There was a pretty solid crew of around 50+ surfers in the water, but spread out from Temple’s all the way down to the Racetrack. Wind direction was clean and true, off-shore outta the ESE @ 8-12knot. There were a few drops of rain and some cloud about early but that was quickly burnt off to leave a mainly blue sky and pretty hot land temperature of around 32 degree’s Celcius. As the tide filled in the Main Peak was producing some solid Lefthand peaks but there looked to be a fair bit of wind chop on some of em. All in all there was some spectacular tube rides down at Uluwatu today and plenty more still to come over the next few days. Coming home past Impossible’s and Padang Padang there were half a dozen surfers out around the middle section of Impossible’s riding waves in the 2-4ft+ range. I didn’t see anything breaking into the channel at Padang Padang but I’m sure there woulda been some boadyboarders getting some sly ones ?. Speaking of, I’ve also got another batch of photos to load onto the bodyboarding page from Ulu today. PLUS I managed to shoot 10 minutes of 3CCD Digital Video and will have the video cut and loaded for ya’s by tomorrow, so make sure ya come back for that ! Ok friends of Bali, that’s enough outta me for now (12hr shift) but I’ll have a shit load more for ya’s again tomorra. Best Regards from the island of perfect waves and weather, Bali.
