**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’day Crew and thanks for taking the time to drop by the baliwaves this windy Wednesday. Well the wind has been cranked up in the 20 knot plus range all night and by the time I got down for a look at the waves earlier @ 7.00am, it was showing. Wave height on the Outer Reefs was still in the 2-3ft+ range inbetween Kuta Reef down to Airports. Most of the bigger sets were showing around the Middle section of Reef but pretty wind affected due to being located a good 800 mtrs off-shore and no tree’s / cliff’s or hotels infront to buffer, just open water. Kuta Reef seemed to have attracted a good crowd for the early session and I counted around 20 ta 30 surfers already in the line-up. I’m gunna be shooting down to Uluwatu as soon as I get this stuff taken care of so expect some fresh action photos for when I get back to home base. The tide’s on the way down to a 0.9 mtr Low @ lunch time and then running back up to a 1.5 mtr High around 6.00pm. Upstairs the sky is a mixture of light cloud and patchy blue and the wind is still howling outta the ESE-SE @ 8-15 knot. I reckon yesterday the wind woulda peaked around 30 knots at one stage, ya know it’s strong when it nearly blows ya off your motorbike. Ok then reef riders have a good one and stay tuned to Bali’s surf and weather scene right here with baliwaves. Best Regards from the Best Bet Tropical Island your gunna find to score perfect waves on precious Holiday time.
A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Surfer-girl won’t be involved with the Orphan Sponsorship Program as of the 12th of June. But we will find a way to keep it continuing, so drop us an email if you’d like to help out. It doesn’t cost much to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books.
Here’s a quick up-date on the Bali Orphan Project, last week baliwaves.com found sponsors for 3 unfortunate Balinese kiddies. Now if we can only keep the momentum going I know we can do some more, AU$8.00 per month per year for everything needed to put a child in school.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Discounts into the G-Land camp of your choice. How to get over to Lakey Peak and still have money to spread around. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
