**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew here’s some photos I shot down at Uluwatu today, finally. Yesterday was a bit of a “nothing I can do about it” type day. The car I was in just shit itself after climbing up the hills on the southern end of Bali, I was close, but far away… Anyway today when I arrived down at Uluwatu there were around 40 surfers spread from the Main Peak down to the Racetrack. Wave height was still a good solid 3-5ft+ while the tide was pushing up to a big High that happened around lunch time. The number of surfers dropped away to a dozen or so at one stage, or maybe everyone just came in for lunch at the same time ? As the tide started to rapidily drop away through the early afternoon the Main Peak was getting a bit heavy and more often than not shutting down. It wasn’t long before the crew shifted over to the other side of the Racetrack, out the back a bit. But not to be mistaken for the “Outeside Corner” section. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there were quite a few motor bikes with boardracks parked up the top. I could see 2-4ft lines peeling down the reef at Impossible’s with quite a few surfers spead along it but I couldn’t see any tell tale white water at Padang Padang. I do know that Kuta Reef to Airport Left were also smoking through 2-4ft+ waves when I was down there early in the day. All up you’d have to say there were waves going off just about everywhere from Legian to Uluwatu. The blue sky and sunshine hasn’t stopped all day and the wind has been blowing off-shore outta the ESE-SE upta 12knot since day break. Oh yeah I also managed to blast away with the DV camera today so I’ll try and get ya’s a video clip or two by tomorra. Thanks for dropping into the baliwaves today, we’ll be back first thing in the morning to let ya’s know what’s going down surf and weather wise in Bali. Best Regards from Your Bali.
baliwaves.com wants to help out with a charity organisation caring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Surfer-girl won’t be involved with the Orphan Sponsorship Program as of the 12th of June. But we will find a way to keep it continuing, so drop us an email if you’d like to help out. It doesn’t cost much to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books.
Here’s a quick up-date on the Bali Orphan Project, last week baliwaves.com found sponsors for 3 unfortunate Balinese kiddies. Now if we can only keep the momentum going I know we can do some more, AU$8.00 per month per year for everything needed to put a child in school.
