**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers and thanks for dropping into another week of baliwaves. Hmmm, as ya’s can see it was tube city again down at Uluwatu yesterday. I didn’t turn up untill the tide hit the bottom just ater 9.00am to find the Racetrack section still spitting surfers outta the tube. Wave height was averaging the 3-4ft mark but every now and then a bigger 5 footer would roll through on the Main Peak. As the tide pushed in the surfing focus shifted to Temple’s and the Main Peak. Even though there were around 70 surfers spread out from the Temple to the Track there were still plenty of waves coming through all day. Sorry I didn’t get ya’s any DV, because I had surf fever on the way to Uluwatu. I mean the stereo was cranking, the wind was off-shore, swell, so enevitably I forgot to stop and buy a new cassette. This morning and it’s day 6 of perfect waves happening on Bali. My 6.30am surf recon of the Outer Reefs revealed wave height to still be holding in the 2-4ft+ range from Kuta Reef way down to Airport’s. There were already a couple of dawnies out on Kuta Reef scoring some good looking 2-3ft+ peelers. No one out on Middle’s yet, but as the tide gets towards the bottom there’ll be some nice 2-4 footers on offer. I’d imagine Airport Right woulda had a few waves early and Airport left was breaking cleanly @ 1-3ft. The wind was light and variable at sun-up, but should settle into the pattern of the Tradewind by mid morning, ESE-SE. The next tide is gunna be a Low of 1.0 mtrs @ 11.00am then the High Tide of 1.7 mtrs @ 4.30-5.00pm. Ok looks I might get to clock up a couple more hours at KR again today. And I’m telling ya, there is still more swell in transit to Bali. I don’t think old Slim is gunna be getting to much R & R in over the next week. Got Holidays due ? If ya have you should be making your way down to your travel agent today and booking into some warm weather and perfect waves. Until ron, Best Regards from Your Bali.
A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans , by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. It doesn’t cost much to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books.
Here’s a quick up-date on the Bali Orphan Project, last week baliwaves.com found sponsors for 3 unfortunate Balinese kiddies. Now if we can only keep the momentum going I know we can do some more, AU$8.00 per month per year for everything needed to put a child in school.
