**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Welcome back to the baliwaves all you Indo vets and virgins. Here’s another view from Uluwatu’s Racetrack section when the tide hit the bottom yesterday. The last batch of photos were the ones I shot while the tide was at the top and just starting to run out. Yeah, wave height was in the 2-4ft range through the morning but as the tide ran out wave height kept on decreasing. This morning the 24th and when I was down checking the swell situation on my 6.30am recon there wasn’t a lot happening on the Outer Reefs in the way of rideable waves. Kuta Reef and Airport Left were breaking but only in the knee to waist high range. Middle Reef was doing slightly better with the odd waist to chest high set wave. With the tide currently on the way upto a 2.3mtr High water line due around 11.00am I don’t think there’s gunna be to many waves out there as it fills in. The next Low tide is gunna be a fairly dry, reef exposing 0.2mtr happening around 5.00pm. The wind was already blowing off-shore outta the ESE @ 4-8knot when the sun poked it’s head up this morning. There is the odd cloud cruising about upstairs but I think it’s safe to say that we’re gunna be in for another warm to hot day here in Bali. Looking for a wave today you could still find something to push ya along down at UIuwatu or maybe even the beach breaks of Kuta to Seminyak might have something around the high tide. I also want to Thank the 18 surfers and 1 bodyboarder who came to the rescue and answered baliwaves request to help us from keep going under (pay to view). Not bad.. what do you reckon 19 from our monthly average of 60,000+ viewers. Ok enough of that for now, for the surfing DVD lovers you lot had better check out “Blindmoose” over on the banner ad section. This bunch of professional film makers have been putting this latest release together over the last 12months or so (not a two week boat trip to the Mentawai’s like most of the material out there) and is finally ready to be unleashed on the surfing public, so check it out. That’s about all I got time for this morning but if there are any changes on the swell situation through out the day I’ll get back to ya’s later this afternoon. Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s truelly got it all !
Please if ya can help out baliwaves with a dollar or two we would certainly appreciate it, ( I certainly would..) I really wanna be able to do a lot more helping out with the less fortunate folk around Bali and Indo but first I need to make sure that baliwaves.com keeps it’s head above the high tide line, if ya know what I mean. Right now I’m just doing it, but my credit card is just about maxed out in the red. To tell ya the truth, I don’t want more than I need to get by. I’ve been borrowing cars for the last 8 years to get you guys the material that gets ya stoked. This isn’t an anual thing by the way, it’s just baliwaves.com asking for a helping hand at times of need.
Why don’t ya send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Discounts into the G-Land camp of your choice.
