**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** G’day crew and thanks for hanging around until I got back from Uluwatu today. First up this morning when I was doing my rounds at 6.15am wave height had noticibly dropped off but there was still the odd 2-3 footer coming through on Middle Reef while the tide was on the way out. Not much at all breaking on Kuta Reef or Airports so I high tailed it down to Uluwatu to see what it was. I was set up by 7.00am and there was a total of 6 surfers in the water at that time. The Racetrack was spinning some sick but extremely shallow tube rides. As the tide started to roll back in around 9.00 – 10.00am more and more surfers started to turn up, while the surfing focus shifted across to the Main Peak. Wave height on the bigger sets were just pushing 5ft and there was plenty more sick tube rides going down. There was hardly any wind early and surfing conditions were super clean before the off-shore ESE Tradewind kicked in. By the time I packed up at 1.00pm the number of surfers in the water had reached 60, but spread out from Temple’s down to the Racetrack. Temple’s was also producing some long and straight lined waves in the 3-4ft range and I saw one surfer go at least 300yrds on one wave. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there were a few 1-3 footers bending down the line at Impossible’s but Padang Padang was pretty well flat. Ya can’t see Bingin from there, but I couldn’t imagine there have being too much down in there anyway. Likewise for Balangan, but maybe there woulda been a few 2-3 footers for the crew hanging out down there. Weather wise it’s been a top day for the beach lovers, with more blue sky than grey an the temperature woulda easily pushed 30 degree’s Celcius outta the shade. Ok check out these latest images outta Uluwatu and I’ll be back in the morning with more for ya’s. Until then crew it’s Best Regards from Your 100% friendly surfing holiday island of Bali.
Please if ya can help out baliwaves with a dollar or two we would certainly appreciate it, ( I certainly would..) I really wanna be able to do a lot more helping out with the less fortunate folk around Bali and Indo but first I need to make sure that baliwaves.com keeps it’s head above the high tide line, if ya know what I mean. I’ve been borrowing cars for the last 8 years to get you guys the material that gets ya stoked. This isn’t an anual thing by the way, it’s just baliwaves.com asking for a helping hand at times of need.
Why don’t ya send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Discounts into G-Land. How to get over to Lakey Peak and still have money to spread around. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
