**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Selamat Pagi is Indonesian for “good morning” That’s exactly what we have around the beach’s in Bali today. I did the surf check on the Outer Reefs at 7.00am, and the new swell has arrived. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was ranging up to a solid 6-6ft+ while the tide was just coming off the bottom of a 0.3mtr Low that went down @ 5.00am. As the tide continues to run up to the 2.3mtr High scheduled in for 11.00am there’s gunna be some real nice waves breaking on Kuta Reef. Earlier there was already a couple of surfers out there, but it was looking a bit shallow to me. Middle Reef didn’t look to user friendly attracting the bigger waves but shifty @ 6ft+ Both Airport Left and *Airport Right will also improve with the incomning tide. The wind was coming lightly outta the North @ 1-3knot but I’d say we could be in for some more cross/on-shore wind again. Looking at the synoptic chart for the Indian Ocean there’s a mungrel big High pressure system sitting down in the middle of it. Perfect shade of high pressure blue in the sky, temeperature wise the mercury should reach into the early thirties Celcius. I do have ta admit it has been getting noticibly hotter over the last couple a weeks. Anyway what we got for the surfer is plenty of swell all over the island with light cross/on-shore wind. Or ya could cruise down to Kuta beach and see what’s happening at this year’s KUTA CARNIVAL. Better still, ya could go surfing first, and then get down to Kuta beach this evening for the free music concerts and other assorted activities. I’ll be loading some valid photo’s into the Kuta Cam Gallery later this afternoon, and ya never know WDT might even shoot a few from the water at Kuta Reef. So there’ll be plenty happening around the baliwaves for those of ya’s that are not available for todays proceedings. Best Regards & remember it’s never to late to book a Bali Holiday.
Good New’s Dept: Due to an extreme bout of “what a bloody co-incidence” I may have found an organisation that takes a special interest in taking care of little Balinese kiddies that haven’t got any parents. Getting them decked out in school gear and organising their school fees, books, etc etc. They are a fully volunteer type outfit and hopefully soon I’ll have the full run down on how we can help out.
My turn dept: My Deepest Thanks to the people who spared baliwaves some kind thought, what surprised me the most was that these people kinda already imagined exactly how I live. It’s ended up with something like 60 surfers and surfing families have lent a helping hand. So ya’s can take a deep breath knowing that baliwaves.com is gunna be keepen on keepen on. For me, just knowen that I got that many solid supporters watching it’s well worth it. Thanks 10,000,000. times crew !
