**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello again folks it’s time for the afternoon wrap on how it was around the beach’s today in Bali. Well right now @ 5.15pm the wind is coming outta the SSW @ 6-10knot plus and been blowing on-shore everywhere along the Bali’s West Coast virtually all day. Wave height though has been slowing building on the Outer Reefs and is now in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airports. I never made it across to the East coast but I’m sure surfing coditions woulda been a bit cleaner and plenty of waves surfed. I also had a phone call from Chris Holder and his Bro’s who are over at Lakey Peak on the Island of Sumbawa at the moment and they reckon the “The Peak was cranking this morning with the set waves pushing double over head”. “We’ll be heading down to surf Periscopes first thing in the morning” The boys said there’s a total of around 18 surfers over there at the moment. For anyone wondering about getting across for the Lakey Peak experience Merpati Airlines are now offering return flights (surfboards are no problem) for around AU$160.00 EX-Bali which can be easily booked here in Bali. How about this, if ya are interested in getting over there drop us a line and I’ll arrange a 10% discount on the already NET room rate for the Aman Gati Hotel. Anyway tomorrow is looking positive for some surf around here in Bali as well. I’ve already secured some wheels and will be out on location with the 1000mm + 14meg SLR, somewhere different I thinks ? So see ya’s then ! ****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Howdy surfers and welcome back for another weekend of baliwaves. As per normal it’s never flat for too long here in surf central Bali. This morning I went down for an eye ball of the Outer Reefs @ 6.30am and check on todays surfing conditions. Like I mentioned a couple a days ago wave height has indeed increased slightly today and currently breaking in the 1-3 feet range in between Kuta Reef and Airports. Kuta Reef and Airport Left were still only in the 1-2ft waist high size but Middle Reef was attracting some 3 footers (head high) set waves. Unfortunately for starters wind direction was coming outta the WNW @ 3-6knot and pretty well on-shore right along the Bali’s West coast. But on the other hand we’ve got clean and tidy off-shore wind just 30 mins away over on the East coast. I’d imagine there’d be some nice waves about at locations like Nusa Dua, Green Balls, Serangan and even up at Keramas. The tide was still on the way out and heading for a 0.3mtr Low level around 7.30am then running back up for a medium range 1.7mtr High around mid afternoon. Absolutely faultless weatherwise with nothing but blue sky and sunshine coming on for the happy holiday crew doing it tuff in Bali. Temperature wise it has been damn hot outta the shade with the mercury easily busting the mid 30’s on the Celcius scale, water temp is perfect @ 23 degree’s Celcius. Wondering what the dollar exchange scene is doing: — 1US$=Rp9,110 — 1AU$=Rp6,990 — 1NZ$=Rp6,025 — 1EU$=Rp11,+++ Ok then folks I’m gunna keep a close eye on the waves and wind direction today and try and get out there and snap some new (surfing) eye candy for ya’s. I’ve also gotta apologize to the daily email report subscribers, hang in there folk as we’re just fine tuning the system and will resume asap. Actually Troy, our man down in the baliwaves engine room who keeps us moving isn’t happy. No he wants to re-design the whole kit and kaboodle again. He reckons, he can make baliwaves.com even more user friendly and be able to add a lot more content for ya’s. Troy’s the Man ! Have a good one and start organising your friends and planning your next Indonesian tube fest now !
