**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** G’day crew and thanks for droppin by the baliwaves this afternoon. I think it was around 8.00am that the wind switched around to the WSW and a return of on-shore wind along Bali’s West coast in the 3-5knot range. I didn’t care, I was mind set on going to Uluwatu. An as ya’s can see in these latest photos to come outta Bali surfing conditions were still clean enough to have have some fun. Wave height out on the Main Peak was pushing 3-4ft on the set waves, while Temple’s was also peeling through @ 2-3ft. I counted a total of 18 surfers spread from Temple’s to the Main Peak. The WSW wind was setting in and only getting stronger when I packed up around 11.30am. There was virtually nothing breaking at Impossible’s as I was passing the bridge over Padang Padang and back home in Tuban the Outer Reefs were still showing a couple of feet of white water but pretty on-shore looking. Right now @ 1.40pm I reckon the temperature would be easy 33 degree’s Celcius, and as soon as I load this stuff up for ya’s I’ll be heading down for an afternoon swim. Wind direction has also done another switcheroo and has just changed to the SSE @ 5-10knot. I’ll be back in the morning with the run down on Bali’s surf and weather conditions so stay tuned to the baliwaves !
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew and here we go again with more Bali surf and weather info. I went down for the early surf check @ 5.45am (it’s pretty well light enough @ 5.30am through our summer months) Surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs were clean and smooth with wave height in the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airports. A slight improvement on yesterdays size anyway. The tide was right on the top of a middle of the moon phase 1.6mtr High water and will be dropping down to a 0.7mtr Low around lunch time. Wind direction was coming lightly outta the ENE and for now is off-shore between Canggu and Uluwatu. That’s where I’ll be heading shortly, down to Uluwatu with the 600mm lens. I don’t think there’s gunna be anything too exciting happening, hopefully there might be a few 3 footers on offer. But, that’s where the best waves will be found in Bali today, and that’s what it’s all about. Weather wise outside @ 7.00am there’s nothing but blue sky and we’re gunna be in for another scorcher of around 34 degree’s Celcius, outta the shade. For anyone who’s wondering what the dollar exchange rates are like here’s a rough guide: — 1US$=Rp9,100 — 1AU$=Rp6,995 — 1NZ$=Rp6,095 — Alright then I gotta get my gear ready and fuel up the Suzuki 2 stroke, I should be back by around 2.00pm for the arvo up-date. So have a good one what eva ya got on today and start organising your friends for your next indonesian surfing adventure today !
