**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and welcome to the machine, the Bali surf and weather report machine that is. Hey how’s those waves we had down at Uluwatu yesterday, sweet or what. I tell ya’s it pays to be in the know over here around this time of the year, as I did mention we were in for that pulse a few days back. I arrived down at Ulu just as the tide had passed through the bottom of the Low and running back in. There were only 14 surfers in the water @ 12.45pm with 2-4ft+ lines warping down the Racetrack. It was Tube City and the local surfers, Made Lapur and Made Lana (to name just a couple) were tearing it to peices. As the tide filled in more towards mid afternoon the crowd picked up to something like 30 surfers spread from the Main Peak and down through the Racetrack. I dunno what anyone else reckons but the wind was fully cross-shore coming outta the S-SSE. This morning the 2nd and when I went down for the surf recon I wasn’t that surprised to see wave height has backed off to the 1-2ft+ range on the Outer Reefs here in downtown Tuban. There were a few smallies coming through on Kuta Reef in the waist to nipple range on the sets, likewise down on Airports. When the tide runs out around midday Middle Reef might have the odd head high set. The beach breaks up along the Kuta to Legian stretch of sand woulda been producing some fun waves on the morning tide, I’ve heard a lotta good comments on the conditions of the current banks. Uluwatu would still have some shoulder to head high plus action down on the bukit. Right now @ 8.30am the wind is coming outta the ESE-SE @ 4-9knot and blowing clean off-shore from Legian down to Uluwatu. The sky’s got some of that high up thin type cloud this morning but ya can put the house on it coming out hot and sunny by midday ! Today ya could say “Ya shoulda been here yesterday!!” but there is a few fun sized waves to be found along Bali’s West Coast. Alright then make the most of what eva ya got on today and start organising your friends and planning your next Indonesian tube fest now !
